Suellen Rocca to Participate in The Figure, Humor, and the Chicago Imagists Symposium

To celebrate The Figure and the Chicago Imagists, Elmhurst College and the Elmhurst Art Museum will present "Symposium: The Figure, Humor, and the Chicago Imagists" on December 16, presented in partnership with Art Design Chicago.

The full-day symposium features presentations on the the Chicago Imagists, their relationship to the tradition of American figurative art, and their use of humor. The event includes an introduction by Suellen Rocca and a presentation by Dan Nadel, who recently organized What Nerve! Alternative Figures in American Art, 1960 to the Present. The viewing of the collection is followed by a panel discussion with participants to be announced.

The symposium will begin at Illinois Hall at Elmhurst College and continue at at the Elmhurst Art Museum. The program is free with registration.
