This exhibition of over a hundred works is Gober's first large-scale survey in the United States. Featuring sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, and immersive sculptural environments, Robert Gober: The Heart Is Not a Metaphor is organized around major themes from the past three decades. Ann Temkin, the museum's chief curator of painting and sculpture, and Paulina Pobocha, assistant curator of painting and sculpture, worked closely with Gober on the exhibition, which will be accompanied by a 264-page catalogue with contributions from Hilton Als, Gober, Temkin, Pobocha, and others.
On Wednesday, November 5 at 6:00 pm, Gober and Temkin discussed the exhibition and accompanying publication. To watch footage from the talk, please click here.
