Martin Puryear Connecting at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing

Martin Puryear's Connecting will be unveiled on Tuesday, May 8 at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. The 31 foot tall sculpture, a decade in the making, was commissioned by the Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies (FAPE). The work will be dedicated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, remarks, and a reception.

The sculpture is a gift of the artist with additional funding support provided by Bank of America, The Honorable Ronald S. Lauder and Mrs. Jo Carole Lauder and Maria Hummer-Tuttle and Robert Tuttle, donated in honor of Agnes Gund.
