Robert Gober Elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters
The American Academy of Arts and Letters announced that Robert Gober will be among the ten new members who will be inducted during the organization's annual induction and award ceremony to be held in mid-May. New Ellsworth Kelly sculpture at the Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia
The Barnes Foundation installed a commissioned Ellsworth Kelly sculpture in the garden of the Foundation's new location on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on April 10, 2012. The 40-foot-tall stainless steel sculpture, titled Barnes Totem, now stands at the end of a reflecting pool, a site selected in collaboration with the artist. Ellsworth Kelly has selected three French Films, Jacques Tati’s Playtime, Jean Renoir’s Rules of the Game, and Jacques Becker’s Casque d’or, that will screen at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art during on March 2 (Playtime) and 9 (Rules of the Game and Casque d'or).
