Essay by Harry Cooper.
The catalogue of Kelly's first self-portrait drawing show, this book reproduces 52 works made over the course of nearly half a century. The earliest was executed when the artist was 21 years old, and the volume includes drawings made during his military service, his days as an art student in Boston, and his years as a young artist in Paris, where he lived from 1948 to 1954. He made the more recent works throughout his travels.
