Conceived by Charles Ray, designed with Silvia Gaspardo Moro, statement by Charles Ray.
Young man by Charles Ray documents the stages of work and materials used to realize Young man (2012), a 1,500-pound sculpture in solid stainless steel. Printed on unbound pages, this publication, the first to provide such an in-depth look at the artist’s process, shows the development of the sculpture alongside a set of life-size details that can be reconfigured into two full-scale images of the work.
